Coffee With Chloe - Issue 8

It's our 2 month anniversary of chatting....can you believe it?! Remember at school you'd literally count the months of your relationships. Someone asks me now & I'm like errrrm god knows ha.

Have you all had the best week? We've had a lovely week here & its a Miss Peyton weekend this weekend. I suggested going for a walk & Gareth decided to tell Peyton we were going on a baked bean walk where you take a flask of beans & rather than tell him to shut up & stop being stupid she decided that was the best idea in the world so now we are going on a frigging walk with a flask of bloody baked beans.....I mean what is my life?!

This week we are going to be talking about healing your inner child, lemon & ginger ice cube shots, Black Obsidian & my book review "The Dinner Guest"

So as always grab your coffee & get cosy & lets get into our 2 month anniversary issue of Coffee With Chloe.

Healing

Bringing back childhood joy into your life is an absolutely incredible way to help heal your inner child.

Let me tell you playing the switch is such an amazing easy way to do this. Don't tell me you don't have time to play games because you absolutely do. If you have time to half watch tv & scroll through TikTok you have absolutely got time to play the switch.

I saw a TikTok that said "this is your sign to invest in a life long hobby & buy a switch. You'll play the cutest, cosiest games & finally reconnect with your childhood ability to just disconnect & play" I already had my switch but, if I didn't already have one this would absolutely sell me on the idea haha.

There are so many cosy games for you to get addicted to that let you get lost in another world & bring a calming, playful joy back into your life. If you've got kids (they are so annoying because they will want to play too, urgh (only half joking)) wait for them to go to bed so they can't spy you. Blocking out the outside world & just sitting down to play a game is a fabulous way to relax & recharge.

If you struggle to concentrate on reading to relax then the switch might be just what you're looking for.

My favourite games include:

  1. Stardew Valley

  2. Animal Crossing

  3. Cooking Mama (did you used to have this on the DS)

So if you have kids & they already have a switch get yourself one of these games in secret & play when they are in bed asleep so they'll never know. If you don't have kids then great because you don't have to share.

Wellbeing

I'm looking at different ways to heal my gut & boost my immune system. Apparently one way to do that is with lemon & ginger shots, pre-bought ones are super expensive & trying to make fresh ones is sooooooo messy. Then I saw a really great idea. Frozen lemon & ginger ice cubes.

Bob your lemon juice, ginger, honey, turmeric & some water into a blender then tip into an ice cube tray. Each morning you pop an ice cube into a mug & top up with hot water.

Benefits of drinking lemon & ginger:

  1. Reduces nasal congestion

  2. Stops indigestion

  3. Keeps you hydrated

  4. Aids digestion

  5. Boosts immune system

  6. Anti inflammatory

The weather is getting colder so I am looking forward to changing over from smoothies to this hot drink in a morning. I will let you know how I get on next week. I have a feeling it is going to take some getting used to the taste but once I have I am sure this is going to something I look forward to every morning.

Crystals

Black Obsidian is a powerful cleanser helping clear your home of negative energy, If you place this crystal next to your front door it will keep you protected for unwanted energy and make you feel safe and protected, leaving your home filled with positive and happy vibes.

What's Good This Week

I lent this book to my lovely client & forgot to take a picture before I gave it her (what an idiot) but she very kindly sent me a piccy when she got home. Life saver.

I was worried about this book because it was pretty thick & I had a busy week ahead of me. I finished it early because I couldn't put the damn thing down. I really enjoyed it, you know when they say a book has twists but it doesn't really, well then one really does & not stupid twists either that don't make any sense.

The only annoying thing was the cliff hangers went on for too many chapters. So what I mean is one chapter would be a cliff hanger then you'd have to wait for like 3/4 chapters to get back to it then that would would be another cliff hanger & you'd have to wait another 3/4 chapters & so on.

It could of also been about 150 pages shorter I'd say. There were a lot of filler chapters & it waited a long time to get to the point. Saying that thought I did really enjoy it. It gave me a bit of anxiety because I felt like I was living in their lives so I suppose that's the point of having the filler chapters.

I'm giving this book an 8/10 like I say it was really good but just a bit longer than it actually needed to be. Would diffs recommend. One of my beautiful clients gave me this one to make up for suggesting My Dark Vanessa, so she is now forgiven after that traumatic experience.

Oh good I'm glad I'm forgiven! I have to say I preferred my Dark Vanessa 😬🤣

I downloaded the Sims this week, takes me back to my pre-teen days spending literally the WHOLE day playing it 💕 first thing Alex now says when he gets home "how long have you played the Sims today?" 🤣
